Welcome to the last piece of the blog series- Influencer Marketing.
We’ve been talking about the statistics related to influencer marketing, how to select the right influencer, and what are macro and micro influencers. Today we will be talking about the top 5 tips related to influencer marketing. We do not want you to miss anything! Let us show we care!
Have you constructed a marketing campaign without setting a goal? Why should influencer marketing campaign be an exception? Having the campaign goals clear in your mind, or even better if you have them written on a piece of paper, to draw effective outcomes. Setting your goals will catalyze firm decisions throughout the campaign, whether it is selecting influencers, fixing a budget or deciding the course.
What is your aim? Is it creating awareness for your brand? Or is it selling your newly launched product?
Getting social engagement is an obvious result an influencer marketing campaign will draw. But, you also want to drive traffic to your website to make sales. Influencers are an effective source of traffic. Have influencers promote your product or a range of products. Make sure the influencers share a link to the relevant page on your site instead of just mentioning it.
Create a separate landing page for the traffic coming from the influencer’s social media pages. This landing page can be designed keeping the influencer in mind. Trust us, their followers may then be more tempted to buy. Plus, it will be easier to track the conversion rate of that influencer marketing campaign. Check that the influencers are sharing links, to make shopping at your site easier for their followers.
I might be repeating myself in this blog series, but this is a point a marketer just cannot ignore. The number of followers cannot be the only metric you consider. To track the true success of your campaign set metrics like the engagement rate (number of likes, comments, and shares), number of website visits from this source, number of purchases or self sign-ups, etc. Give this aspect deep thought before finalizing the metrics.
Fake influencers use third-party sites. These sites use bots to like and comment on these fake influencers’ posts. Fake replies or comments are a general statement that can be posted for any kind of posts. They include sentences like- “Loved it!” “This is awesome” or a simple heart emoji. Instagram has shut down third-party sites and apps like Instagress, InstaPlus, and PeerBoost, all of which violate Instagram’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.
Ultimately, leverage the trust an influencer has earned from his followers. Use that trust to influence your own target audience. In some areas, influencer marketing is integral to driving large sales. There are many aspects to explore when it comes to influencer marketing so carefully design your strategy.
It also cannot be denied that with a constant growth in the industry, influencers are being heavily commissioned to speak about brands and produce co-branded content. In this scenario, the trust factor could fade. Consumers may start demanding more authenticity from the influencers they follow, watching carefully for signs of sincerity and accuracy. Hence, make sure you construct a full-proof plan for your influencer marketing strategy.
