You may remember that we wrote 150 blog posts in 50 days, and then 300 blog posts in 100 days. That means we wrote 3 blogs a day…15 blogs a week.
It was intense. And it worked. Our traffic was up and our organic rankings skyrocketed.
But we simply couldn’t keep up the pace. Writing 15 blog posts each week takes a significant amount of time and effort. We simply didn’t have the bandwidth to continue. So, after a few days of detox, we started writing 1 post a day.
In the next week or so we’ll write a blog post about what has happened to our rankings and traffic. It is interesting.
But, here’s the other interesting thing we’ve learned:
Writing 1 blog each day is harder than writing 3 each day.
It doesn’t take more time. It doesn’t take more thought. Rather, writing 1 blog each day is just…harder than writing 3.
I don’t know why.
– When we were writing 3 blogs each day I was much more ‘in the zone.’ I was so used to writing so much that it became easy. I was focused.
– Necessity is the mother of invention. Would we have built the Atomic bombs if we were not engaged in an all-consuming global conflict? No. We wouldn’t have. Perhaps the reason I was able to come up with 15 original titles each week is simply because I had to.
– Practice. The more I did it, maybe the easier it became. Now, that I’m writing less it is harder.
– Other priorities. When we were writing 3 blogs each day that was my focus. Now I’m focused on other tasks primarily. Writing is secondary.
Any other thoughts?
